Houston / Heights ARTS - Alliance for Reasonable Traffic Solutions is an organization dedicated to helping Houston staff, and implement safe bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure projects on sfe  streets . Most funding for safe infrastructure initiatives is federally-sourced. Unfortunately, Congress refuses to allocate sufficient funds for nationwide transportation and infrastructure purposes. In fact, only about two percent of federal tax monies go to support transportation and infrastructure. This leaves

Some protected bike lanes leave cyclists vulnerable to injur

But a new IIHS study shows that protected bike lanes vary in terms of injury risk. Factors such as the number of driveways or alleys intersecting the lanes and whether the lanes are one- or two-direction affect the likelihood of a crash or fall.
